"Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu creates a story that instantly pulls you in--I wound up staying up later than I should have in order to read a little further." - Shaeli Gollaher
"What an exciting read!...I must say this book didn't feel like a debut work...Readers who love chills and thrills cannot miss this book." - Bhavishya Mandalapu
"Love that right away I was pulled right into the drama of their lives. And it kept me pulled in...I liked the writing style and enjoyed the characters." - Reader's POV
"Sidhu is an amazing writer! From the start this is a great story. I wasn't able to put the book down, wondering "what happens next" and staying up almost all night." - Maria Bruckner
"This book maintains a dark and gritty atmosphere whilst covering some rather disturbing subjects. A well written addictive novel that will probably stick into your head long after putting it down. I can see it commercially scoring the charts, as it has all the elements for success! This author shows a lot of potential in her writing, as well as the story telling, especially when she makes sure there’s a sequel coming right up for her audience! Way to go Sidhu. I’ve always loved and enjoyed debutant works, as they’re fresh ideas and the style is still innocent." - Swathi Shrinath
"I fell in love with the cover and wanted to read the book even before I read the blurb. When I did, I knew I had to read it. Storm was like nothing I’ve ever read before. It was interesting and fresh. If you are triggered by abuse you may want to skim some parts but the story is worth reading. There is a lot of action and it was definitely a page-turner. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series." - Time4Mommy
"This is the first book that I have read by Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu - I can say that it is not the typical book that I would be found reading BUT once I started reading it, I found it hard to stop!!! This is the first book of a series but you can read it as a standalone novel. Evan Storm wakes up from terrible nightmares every morning at 3:30am. He dreams of a past life as an abusive husband. Evan and his sister Denise live with their grandmother because they believe that their parents were killed in two separate accidents. When Shadow Hex moves in next door to Evan, he recognizes her as a reincarnation of his abused wife from a previous life. OK -- I don't write spoilers, so I have to stop and say that you really need to read this for yourself." - Book Lover
"This book grabs you and pulls you in from the start. There are so many twists and turns that you think you're on the world's loopiest rollercoaster! I sat with my hand to my mouth or throat the majority of this book." - Machiavellian Books
"A gripping thriller. Characters are believable and it's an unusual story, well written and 'unputdownable'. Leaves the reader with a feeling of unease. If you're interested in reincarnation/karma and love a thriller then this book combines both and is definitely for you!" - Claire Harris-Perkins
"This was a very engaging story and premise with lots of action that held my attention. I found some parts a little confusing at times and had to re-read certain sections but all in all I think it’s a good read." - Trina Brown
"Right off the bat this book grabs you if you have ever considered past lives. The idea that we learn from each life and how that precious life effects our decision making. This has been an obsession of mine since a child. Evan comes from a family of people who can see in different ways. But he struggles with his recent past life. It effects his own relationships and his personal life almost in an unhealthy way. I enjoyed this book so much. And am so thrilled to have been asked to read and review this book. At times the details can really hit home and can be hard to witness… But well worth every minute of reading. Looking forward to other books by this author." - Antoinette Kuhnert
"For me, the first few chapters were a little slow and I had a hard time following all the different characters, their relations to one another and where they came from. But in a flash something clicked and I found that I could not put this story down. At times it gets dark and graphic, some situations may be hard to read...I love the idea of past lives and a kind of undeniable destiny that continuously drives people to one another...I would recommend Storm to anyone who likes mysteries, thrillers and likes the paranormal." - Missy Hornick
"...Storm is a unique book, I can’t think of another book I read of its kind. It’s a mystery, thriller, and romance novel all wrapped up into one. As the book begins with a look into Evan’s past. I was engrossed from the first chapter. The author ties everyone together and everything in a way that you really don’t see coming. At first, you don’t realize that everything is related to each other. There are times where I literally gasped in the storyline. There is so much I want to say about this book, but it would be a spoiler. The end does tie up super-fast. A bit too fast for my liking honestly. I’m left with questions that were not answered. I hope there is another book so that we can have those questions answered." - Gina
"This was a very good read. Pulls you in from the start and has you trying to figure out the 'who done it' so to speak while reading. I loved it and am sure you will as well." - Ryan Grey
"Storm is a book that encompasses many genres. It is a book about reincarnation, a love story, a mystery, a thrilling spy agency novel, definitely a page turner from the start. I was drawn into the lives of Evan Storm and Samantha Hex and all of their many layers. As the story progresses I had so many questions and couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The author has built a world that is familiar yet just different enough to make you wonder. I am definitely looking forward to the next book!" - Mommy Reads Too Much Magazine
"I really enjoyed this book and found it to be a real page turner as well as an easy read. However, I did find it a little difficult to keep track of the characters at first and the weird choice of names didn't help. What I think this book struggles from is that it is clearly a 'part one book' so there is a lot of set up and explaining and not a lot of action. When there is action it's very rushed and jumpy storyline that at times it was difficult to read correctly in your head and I had to go back and re-read paragraphs in case I had missed something. Having said all of that I did like the book and I enjoyed the flashbacks, almost more than the main story. Like I said because it's definitely part of a series the book struggles from not being able to answer a lot of your questions. All I can hope for is that we find out in the next book!" - Jess Ford
"This book is so refreshing and different it is awesome, it started slow but after awhile it drags you in and you have to read the rest. The characters are great and more understood during the book, lots of twists and plots! Evan has lots of nightmares he doesn't get, no one seems to be able to help him, will he ever find out what happens to him?? His sister Denise has her own struggles with a husband who had an accident and doesn't remember the past especially their son. I personally loved the grandmother! And then there is Evan's new neighbor. It is all about second chances would you take it ?? Even when you have to go through hell and back?? I am curious where the author takes us in the next book!" - Niki Mattes
"I thought this book offered a good read. The storyline was well thought out and written with plenty of twists and turns to keep you glued to your seat. Will definitely be reading more from this author. Well worth a read. 3.5 stars." - Sue Blanchard
"I enjoyed this book a lot. It gave me ChuckxTwilightxDexterxCSI feels which is a very original concept and a great start to a series. It talks about an old love reincarnated in a futuristic setting that is intriguing and very easy to read. Part of enjoying a book is never having to go through the sentences again and again just to be able to understand the concept and this book made it easy for me to just breeze through the pages and enjoy the story overall." - Tamarah Cristobal
"What would you do if the person you loved in a past life moves in next door in this one? Storm delves into this premise with enough twists and turns to keep me enthralled from the beginning to the end. With lies, deceit, and secret agencies to fear, this thriller has it all. All I can say is "When can we expect Book Two?". " - David Morgan
"I received a copy of Storm for an honest review! Do you believe in past lives? Doppelgangers? Curses? Karma for wrong doing in a previous life? From the very first chapter I was completely drawn in. I was hooked. Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu did such an exceptional job of switching from past to present, visions to reality. Storm is a perfect book of mysteries, thrillers, secrets, and a lot of suspense. It had you questioning the characters intent, their motives, and wondering how this will all end. Thank you Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu for giving me the honor of reading this book! BRAVO!" - Courtney Sparks
"Finished reading this amazing book, "Storm", this winter break!!! I am so glad that I've been able to meet Gurpreet as she is an amazing author. STORM had me addicted, as it was very mysterious. I would truly recommend for others to read STORM as well! Lastly, I loved the fact of how you incorporated the main character, being able to remember their past." - Amanprit Kaur Randhawa
"...after awhile it drags you in and you have to read the rest. The characters are great...., lots of twists and plots!" - Alycia Canfield
"...This book pleasantly surprised me, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Everything weaves together in such a captivating way...This story is action packed and full of twists and turns, I honestly had no idea what was going to happen. I definitely recommend this one! " - Emily, @sempiternal_books
"Was a gripping thriller that took you to every aspect of trying to figure out what was really going on and what was going to happen next! This was such an amazing book and I can’t wait to see what else is released from this author!" - Brooke Gunderman
"I am not used to reading thrillers. Most of you are aware of this. But Storm is not a typical psychological thriller either. It may not even be described as a dystopian novel. Because it takes place in a world that resembles ours very, very, closely; at the same time there are some people, born with supernatural powers and an underground agency that monitors everyone’s moves without their knowledge... Are you intrigued yet? This novel kicks off on a frightening note: Evan Storm has been experiencing some vivid nightmares for months. Nightmares where he always gets some snippets of his past self, in a past life. An abusive Evan who hurt his wife on a daily basis.
Present Evan doesn’t know what these nightmares might imply, but he’s so horrified by them, he goes looking for some answers. Answers that will change the world, his childhood and the way he used to look at it. At the same time, a new neighbour moves in and when Evan knocks on her door, he looks at the woman, and sees the doppelgänger of his past wife…I was hooked. After that point, I knew I had to get to the bottom of this. I even changed my dinner plans to do so! I loved Venetia’s character and how protective she was. A grandma therapist with the ability to see the future and the burden of knowing what her intromissions might entail. Wow. Just wow. The only question I’m left with is: where’s my second installment?" - Olivia, @bookstolivby
"‘Storm’ told a tale of mystery and star-crossed love, and had a range of characters including two main ones who are called Evan and Shadow. Evan keeps remembering things from his past life and, upon meeting Shadow, feels that the two are connected. meanwhile, his grandmother and father are trying to keep Evan protected from Shadow’s ex boyfriend, all the while are they trying to figure out what Evan’s past could mean. I enjoyed the story very much, finding Evan and shadow’s chemistry to be very interesting and cute. Their relationship was the thing I loved most about the story, although the rest of the elements also kept me wanting to figure out what would happen next. There was a secret organization involved, which made me wonder how everything tied in along with Evan’s past life memories. Evan was by far one of the best main characters I’ve ever come across. He was brave and funny and honestly quite charming. I did feel that the end of this first novel didn’t quite bring clarity to the whole past life/organization situation (even though if I’m not mistaken this book might be the first of a series) buuut regardless, Storm really was a very enjoyable read and kept me intrigued all the way through enough to make me like it, also bringing me out of my reading slump! Not to mention the cover is just lovely. ☺️" - Miranda, @stardustwrites
"As an avid fun of thriller novels, I was pleasantly surprised to see "Storm" ticking all the boxes, luring me in from the opening scene! Everything weaves together in such a captivating way that I kept wanting to read more and more. Storm follows the story of Evan, a young man who's been recently having nightmares of his (not so noble) previous life. One day he meets his new neighbor, a doppelgänger of his "past-life" wife, Shadow. While trying to make sense of it all, Evan will find himself amidst a secret agency and long hidden family secrets! I was hooked from chapter one. I loved the slightly futuristic setting and the variety of different characters, all morally grey! The plot is well thought out with a pace just enough to keep me interested! Since this is book one, consider me already excited for book two👀! ↠ Trigger warning : Domestic abuse, suicide tendencies & violence." - Athina, @abookishdemon
"Action packed thriller with secret agents? Give me more! My first text message to the author was to give me the next book. Haha.. I need to know what is going to happen next! I need more action, more thrill, more fight scenes (please tell me there will be more fight scenes). And I need it now! Wow.. I sound like a demanding child now. Oops.. it’s just because it’s that good! I really enjoyed it.
As a person who loves action packed movies, this book was all the while playing like a movie in my mind as I read it. It was exciting and interesting (though I feel like it should be heavier, with greater suspense and danger). It was a fast paced read, written in a way that covers every POV which gives readers an insight into each character’s feelings and personalities. It was a little confusing to me at first but I got a hang of it after a while. It was a refreshing experience which I also enjoyed. I can’t wait for the sequel of this book! It’s going to be great! Please hit me up when it is released. Haha." - Lois Lim, @TheCarrotStories
"This is a hard book to review without giving to much away. Without going into spoilers if are interested in a thriller that dips its toes into reincarnation secret societies this book is for you. The book does start out a bit slow but once it gathers speed it doesn't stop. Do not read the plot synopsis and just enjoy the ride." - Lisbeth Jimenez
"Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu’s Storm: It’s a Curse to Remember follows Evan Storm and Shadow Hex as they fight against insurmountable odds to be together, hoping to start anew after a past life fraught with violence and strife.•Storm definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, especially since each time I sat down to read it, a vicious and loud, Florida thunderstorm seemed to be going on in the background. I had no idea what would happen from one page to the next with all of the twists and turns and secrets and lies. The story also has several unique elements like reincarnation and foresight, providing endless intrigue. I did spend a majority of the novel feeling that there was just a little bit too much going on to logically follow. For instance, the side story of Evan’s sister and her husband and child didn’t really seem to fit or help the progression of the main plot. I also appreciated that the story was told from multiple perspectives, but some of the transitions were a bit abrupt for my tastes. The author does a very good job of giving you just enough information to be able to follow the twists while also holding back enough to keep you coming back for more and more. The descriptors are vivid, and the characters are relatable. All in all, if you are a fan of thrillers and a touch of the diabolical, Storm: It’s a Curse to Remember may be a great read for you! From marital disputes, to secret agencies, to romance, Storm is the full package." - Karradyne Carter
"The moment you open the second chapter everything changes, it makes your world upside down, the first chapter was like a Bollywood flick but from the second chapter onwards this is completely a new story... something beyond imagination, totally something new and fresh. Usually, I don't read fiction but this Storm kept me interested in each and every chapter. I would definitely wait for the second book, though I feel like go to the author’s place and learn more about the story face to face." - Suri Singh
"Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of her novel in exchange for an honest review! I loved the premise of this book and the plot was captivating. I got hung up on some of the wording, and sometimes the shifts in time and perspective had me a bit confused and having to flip back and re-read through sections. Having said that, there were many suspenseful parts where I could not put this book down. Overall I enjoyed it, and I’m interested in seeing where the author takes things with the second book in this series." - Janice @Bibliophile.Belle
"I’m reading STORM by Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu, the first book of this amazing series that promises to be one of the most interesting thrillers I’ve read. I admit it would be cool to remember things from my past lives, unless I were Evan Storm, the main character of this book, haunted by dreams and even waking experiences involving his doppelgänger. And I mean real waking and creepy experiences. This guy might get crazy until the end of the book, but Shadow Hex (his neighbor, and the reincarnation of his wife in his past life) might be the only redemption they have or the last resort to break free from a karma, a sh* cycle. In Brazil, there’s a strong line of a spiritualist philosophy and religious movement called Spiritism, started by Allan Kardec in the 19th century in France. Spiritist Literature is also very popular here, and ideas like past lives, reincarnation, and after-life experiences are the main themes of the stories they tell. Sometimes I think that the genre is too popular around here and not very well written, save for a very few books. And movies like Ghost (1990) and The Sixth Sense (1999) or Hereafter (2010) didn’t quite portray the real keys of this philosophy. However, it’s not what I see with STORM. It’s pretty interesting to see the theme being crafted the way Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu (@gurpreetksidhu316) is doing here, and I can’t wait to read her sequels. By the way, you have to have guts to read it. The first book already begins with a strong scene, which is just the way I like my books." - Joao @Beardbetweenthelines
"While both protagonists cannot escape the choices they’ve made in their previous lives, for better or worse, “Storm: The Curse to Remember” begs the question: will love or evil prevail? In this riveting psychological thriller wrought with the struggles between corruption and virtue, Author Gurpreet Kaur Sidhu’s deft exploration of Shakespearean themes of true love, lies, suicide, revenge, betrayal, and redemption are intricately woven into a thickening plot filled with both endearment and suspense that make the reader question just how much they would risk for love. “Love is a dangerous fuel for the soul,” writes the author. “It can kill us, but in parallel, we all crave it.”" - Lianna Albrizio
"Evan and Shadow meet one day when Evan knocked on her door to welcome her to the neighborhood. The attraction he feels for her is instantaneous. She looks exactly like the wife he had in a past life. A wife he was cruel to. Evan believes in karma and he hopes that this is a chance to make up for the despicable things he did to his wife in his previous life. Shadow brings bad history with her. She has an ex-fiance that will do anything in his power to get her back. Even kill. With the secret agency's help that he works for, he can get away with it. A thriller. Keeps your attention." - Doris Vandruff
"The writing in this book was incredible! I had such a hard time putting it down that I finished it so quickly. Looking forward to reading other books by this author." - Mia Abboud
"An engaging, intricate story that had me hooked from the start. The characters were brilliant and believable, the storyline had a great pace throughout, and the suspense levels were perfect. An enjoyable, engrossing story." - Victoria Wilks
"This is one intense, twisted, addictive, complex, jaw-dropping novel! The aura of suspense increasingly bumped up my anxiety, notch by excruciatingly-taut notch. The palpable tension held me in thrall. The twists made me audibly gasp in shock. And, the fast pace of the wildly-captivating plot kept me swiping the pages feverishly. The characters were so realistic, showcasing the strengths and weaknesses present in us all. I did not want to put this novel down!" - Tammy Windsor
"Storm started with a very intriguing take on a futuristic thriller. The potential for twisted past life karma to affect the protagonists current life is interesting. Although I found some of the writing and description to be a little forced I was rarely able to put the book down. The plot could have used a bit of tweaking and an extra chapter or two more to tie up so loose ends. Overall though Storm is worth reading for those interested in a mysterious thriller with a futuristic feel." - Steven Gaffor
"Evan has the gift of being able to remember his past lives. When he happens upon someone important from a previous life, he thinks it must be a sign and does all he can to make their relationship work this time around. But in doing so, he puts his life in danger because there is someone who refuses to allow Evan to rekindle this relationship. This book pulled me in from the very beginning. The premise is a bit different between Venice being able to see the future and Evan being able to remember his past lives - it kept me intrigued. I did find the SEA story line to be a bit confusing and felt like I could have used a little bit more background on SEA and some of the agents. Overall, this was a great book with a new concept and I enjoyed the storyline." - Katie Artiga
"This is an engaging and intricate with interesting characters and a great plot. I did find that the names were a little difficult to keep up with but that said I loved the read. The storyline had a great pace throughout, and the suspense had me hooked. An enjoyable, engrossing story." - Tracy Shephard
